Buying used subs - what to look for

before buying...if possible test the sub...

and see if it has crack on magned, basket, spider.....

i bought once without testing...was still a beginner and when i came home, i said lets try it...built a box and everything and the sub didnt work...it needed a recone and it was not cheap...

coils if possible, if they are black and smell gross, its probs blown. spiders to see if they are all black and crispy

Make sure you check the triple joint. The part where the cone, former, and spiders all meet. If there is any cracking etc, it might need to be reconed, or at least reglued and hope it holds. Push down on the spiders and watch the joint to make sure there isnt any separation.
