Ghettostar23 Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Hi, this might be a stupid question, but I just bought a new 2015 escalade platinum with navigation and bose system. My question is can I hook up subwoofers and an amplifier to the stock stereo or do I have to find a different way, like installing an aftermarket stereo and if thats even possible with the newer escalades. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Noel989 Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Yes you can Theirs several ways a 360.3, bitone The cheap way a hi lo converter but I wouldn't do it Someone will chime in with more info Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/
redwolf2 Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Line output converter is what I used on a Yukon Denali XL, just tapped into the factory wiring. His was 09 I believe that didn't have RCAs (don't know if yours does)
Ghettostar23 Posted August 12, 2014 Author Report Posted August 12, 2014 Where can I get line output converter and do they come with instructions to which wires I cut into? I haven't remove the stereo to see if has rca's on it but I doubt it becase I've seen a factory radio with rca's already built into it. What are the differences between a 360.3, bitone and a line output converter?
CleanSierra Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Hey the 360.3, that it's what it is designed for and it will skull drag a stupid lone output converter. An LOC converts the High level input of speaker wire into low level input of an RCA so you can add an amplifier. Clearly you have a little money with the vehicle you just purchased, get the 360.3 from a trusted, authorized dealer(so you have support in case you need warranty). It is one of the BEST factory integration units out there. The Audison Bit One is nice as well as the Arc Audio PS8. My preference world be to go with the Fosgate product though and support, knowledge base is second to none. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
CleanSierra Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 On, and the difference between a 360.3 and the line output converter is that you'll maintain a CLEAN signal with the good processing unit and quality build of the 360.3. Most line output converters dirty up the signal through over amplification of the signal. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
MrBigs63' Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 ^^^What was stated above. Line output converters are kind of a last resort in my opinion. I would choose a 360 or a bit one/bit ten by Audison. Either would be a great product.
Ghettostar23 Posted August 12, 2014 Author Report Posted August 12, 2014 Alright, thanks guys for the input. It's been a while since i've in the car audio game and I haven't put a car stereo in one of my cars since I was a teenager. I'm 25 now so I'm gonna do some research on the 360.3 and a few other things and get everything in by this weekend. Hopefully!!! I might be back with a few questions, but thanks guys.
MrBigs63' Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 And if you do buy the 360 and need technical help. Call Fosgate. They have really awesome and friendly customer service reps that will help you with whatever you may need.
