timewarp Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 Iam in the process of getting the last of stuff to get my install done . Iam using a 145 amp alt for now and doing the big three with 0 ofc wire . I planned to use a 0 gauge ofc run , from battery / fuse to near where my amps are then a distro block to split it 1= 0 gauge for my sub amp and 1= 4 gauge for my component sets . I decided to check locally on wire and they said i need to run 0 and 4 gauge from the battery to the amps , They also said for my amps cca or ofc wire would be fine . Will one 0 gauge be good or not ?
TRON Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 Depends on how big the amplifiers are. There's no point in running one 1/0 and one 4ga wire to the back, just do two runs of 1/0, but again depends on how big the amplifiers are. Sub amp is Sundown 1500 v3 and Alpine F300 currently for my 6.5's
TRON Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 Do you have enough wire to do two runs of 1/0 to the back? Avalanche Alpine Type S comps Alpine Type S 10'' Alpine MPR-F300 Alpine MRX-M50 Mechamn 270 XS Power d3400s
SIDE SHOW Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 One run will be fine, but if your running it i'd suggest doing two runs just so you can upgrade easier
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 One run of ofc 1/0 is plenty for what you plan on running. run it to a distrobution block in the rear that splits just like you said and you will be fine. Edit- make sure you fuse the wires coming out of the distribution block as well if it's not a fused block. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
timewarp Posted August 19, 2014 Author Report Posted August 19, 2014 I have not bought the wire/amp kit yet . Iam already gonna be slightly over my budget of 400.00 for the ofc wiring / fuse blocks and the sound deadener ( and will be alittle short on the deadener too ). I may change the alpine amp , but this system is already bigger then i planned on .
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 That's how it go's man. You plan it out as much as you can but always expect other expenses to come up along the way.
