OrionStang Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 Hooked up a pair of 6.5" coax speakers and after about ten minutes of clean, crisp sound, the music suddenly became muffled. Turns out the tweeters on both speakers no longer work. The speakers are rated 75rms and were on ~70 watts each. My guess is a bad solder point somewhere or the caps used on the tweeter are shit and let low frequencies play on the tweets. The baffling thing is, how could this happen on both speakers simultaneously? Thoughts? SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

OrionStang Posted August 25, 2014 Author Report Posted August 25, 2014 Damn, nobody has experienced this? Brand doesn't really matter, but the same situation does. What would cause a coax tweeter to fail? SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
Skullz Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 Shitty tweeter or shitty crossover point or shitty parts used to crossover or a combination of all three. I'm done with buying speakers from unknown sources anymore, i will only buy well known brand names with a good track record, i'm seriously tired of wasting money on shit products. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
