80PRS 3way setup-What is the best way to configure it?

Recommended Posts

Ran active in my last 2 set ups. Current one included.

Only time I've see a RTA is when I'm doing my pysclone comp runs.

I score in the 80's and if I kept it where I score high it sounds like complete shit.

Purely flat responce sounds like ass.

Just my .02

Yea I have heard that too. I'm interested to see what happens when I get it running. I don't plan on competing or anything I just want to be able to see where I am at when I am tuning it. Especially because I have a feeling the way the speakers act inside the car are going to be way different then I had expected.

Also I am going to try to go for balanced, not completely flat.

Active setups should never be attempted without the use of an RTA to set levels. Just like you need the proper tool to set gain, you need the proper tool to set the correct levels for each driver, otherwise you are just guessing.

What? Now this is totally ridiculous, do you tune for it to sound good for your ears or do you tune it for some stupid graph?

(Just like you don't need a "tool" to set gains, except if you lack decent hearing or a nose that can smell burnt coil)

...you're a fucking idiot. Good job.

Glad so many people wasted their money on tools that SMD sells or oscopes or RTA tools or calibration mics. They're all fucking morons for using those tools they should have just asked you to come over and they would have been good. Fuck off and die.

If you were being sarcastic I don't care you're still an idiot for wasting peoples time.

I never said they are morons, I think you might've overreacted.

Do you even know how to use a RTA properly?

How can you know what sound you are going for if you are just looking at graphs? (Someone who uses a RTA often knows how the graph should look like, chances are most people don't)

By the way you should ask how many SQ champions use a RTA, or even SQ competitors.

Thinking is the root of all problems...

You ALWAYS get what you pay for.

I would say if some SQ champ is not using the tools that are afforded them, he/she is missing out on understanding some fundamental things about his/her setup. And has either paid someone else to do the work either shop or manufacturer and is not learning much from their setup.

I don't know you but I reacted in a way that was fitting your condescending questions. That you perpetuate...
