kaylob92 Posted September 13, 2014 Report Posted September 13, 2014 Hello, got some questions about upgrading my system. Well first off as of right now im running two hifonics zeus series 12s that are 1000 watts a piece dvc 4 ohm. They are being pushed by a 1500 watt planet audio amp im running them in parellel to drop the ohms for more power. I wanna upgrade the the amp too a 3000 watt 1 ohm stable planet audio amp which I would be running them in parellel still but from my understanding running them in parellel will drop them to 1 ohm together not 100% sure if thats true so feel free to correct me on that if im wrong. Either way at 1 ohm it will be pushing a direct 3000 watts to them. So my main question do you think it will blow or damage my speakers with that much more power then what they are rated for or should I stick to getting a 2000 watt amp?
reedal Posted September 13, 2014 Report Posted September 13, 2014 If you were getting a true 3000 at any point from that amp, then i would say it's way too much for those subs...... But, i highly doubt you'll even break 2000 watts on that amp. Maybe on a burp with overkill elecrtical, but highly unlikely in my opinion. You should do some research on here and other forums by searching and reading through different posts and seeing what others are using and putting out clean power and true rms. Then make a decision on what amp you want. But if you're dead set on buying THAT amplifier, then I believe you wont even come close to hurting those subs, so enjoy your purchase. islandpride684 Posted September 13, 2014 Report Posted September 13, 2014 Based on the specs, the 3000.1 does 2100@1ohm, based on the price, I doubt it does that... Build Log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186921-blk9te-07-yukon-slo-mo-build/page-3?hl=%2Bblk9te#entry2881410
kaylob92 Posted September 13, 2014 Author Report Posted September 13, 2014 Thanks for the replys, not really dead set on it just on a budget you know. its cheap I know but ive had absolutely no problems with my 1500 watt one so just looking at that one cause I trust the brand even know that its a cheaper one ill eventually get better brand stuff just working with what I can afford right now. This is the amp I was looking at getting -http://m.ebay.com/itm/151371517718?nav=SEARCH - if you go to the description of it, it has more details on it.

kaylob92 Posted September 13, 2014 Author Report Posted September 13, 2014 As of right now just the amp im pretty content with the 12s I got, the speakers I will upgrade at tax time. The amp price I can afford right now is about 160 bucks max thats why I was looking at that one because I havent found much else better for the amount I got.
reedal Posted September 13, 2014 Report Posted September 13, 2014 I would try to hold off a little longer and save up some more, and get maybe the soundqubed 2200D or a sundown, taramps, crescendo. Browse around on here and see what others are using. Those are all good brands with decent prices people on here use that give rated. There are other brands too for good power at good prices. Just my suggestion.
