Sackcheese Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 K I've got one re xxx 12 on 2000 watts ported it gets relatively loud and I'm thinking bout adding 2 8" drivers to bring out the mid bass ... How many would compete with one 12 and how much power should I look to throw at them? It's in a 05 corolla and ima b making kick panels for them... Lol ima try at least
afrakes Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 There's no real answer to your question bro. I would think a single set on 150 rms or so for the pair would keep up just fine, but all depends what u r looking to do. Start with a pair on low to mid power, if it's not enough than get something different. It's all trial and error in this hobby man. Just gotta be willing to have some trials. Vehicle: 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD WT Head Unit: Pioneer DEH- Mids/Highs: Focal Integration ISC 165’s (front) Subs/Amps: TBD
Sackcheese Posted October 12, 2014 Author Report Posted October 12, 2014 That's kinda what I was thinking just trial and error lol thanks
bcbrassard Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 Where are you thinking of putting the 8" drivers? I hope up front. And i would say 100-150 watts would be plenty depending on wattage of mids & highs and how bassy you like it.
Sackcheese Posted October 23, 2014 Author Report Posted October 23, 2014 Yep yep was thinking of making some kick pods or door pods lol
Sackcheese Posted October 23, 2014 Author Report Posted October 23, 2014 Out of curiosity ... How does a person go about time aligning the sound stage in a veicle? Is it done with prossers or a specific device
Aj11 Posted October 24, 2014 Report Posted October 24, 2014 8s upfront will have no issue keeping up with what you have! i know that for a fact! (placement is key) did a install a few weeks ago almost identical to What you have. cut bigger holes and add some deadner to those doors. as far as time alignment i wouldn't worry to much. if i were you id run a 4 channel channel one and two on the highs and 3&4 on your mids. run rear stage off deck power... waste of time unless your over 3k to run a amp to them. cross your mids at 60hz and on 100w (less or more) a pop.. you'll be fine!btw look at the pvr mids for the price they are hard to touch. jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
_paralyzed_ Posted October 24, 2014 Report Posted October 24, 2014 Out of curiosity ... How does a person go about time aligning the sound stage in a veicle? Is it done with prossers or a specific device Either a processor like a Rockford 360.3 or some decks have processors built in like the pioneer 80prs. Not all processors do time alignment and usually only the highest model of a brands decks will have time alignment. You gotta check the specs for it.
Sackcheese Posted October 24, 2014 Author Report Posted October 24, 2014 Thanks a lot fellas I always check this forum when I got tricky questions that YouTube can't answer lol I app everyone's knowledge
Junior Pro Posted October 24, 2014 Report Posted October 24, 2014 I'm doing 4 8's per door for a pair of 18's, 2 8's should be more then enough for a 12".
