Forward facing bass

I have a good question for all my real car audio fanatics. The ones who live and breath this stuff. I already think I have the answer but looking for opinions. I have a ported box with 2 12" kicker subs that sound great facing backwards but the trunk rattles terribly even after two layers of Rattletrap. I want to face them forward but they lose alot of sound and volume with the car closed up for driving. Now the fun part is that once I started opening up my windows it gets progressively louder. Then I opened my doors and it continues to get louder. Then for sh&ts and giggles I open my trunk and it became louder then facing backwards. So now the fact that it gets louder with my doors and trunk open means what? Do I need to make my box bigger facing forwards? This is in the trunk of an 02 maxima.

Quality is all in how you take pictures ;) I have plenty of projects that look WAY better on camera then in person :D

crazy to fit so many in so little. Reminds me of some of the porns I've seen?

Without the trunk sealed off you are getting tons of cancellation. That's why it gets louder when you open the trunk. Depending on circumstances, it MIGHT be louder sealed off. It's very possible that facing backwards will be louder. Unless you are 100% dedicated to completely sealing off EVERYTHING from the cabin to the trunk, just leave them pointing back.

Several systems, several vehicles. Always changing!
