This website is for music lovers. Anything we upgrade with (Hifonics included) is in the pursuit of our love of music. There are forums where ppl specifically ask "Do you think this is a good amp". This is not it. Your Hifonics amp is not the greatest but it will be better than stock. We all start somewhere and I hope you enjoy your journey of learning and upgrading.

Still learning but have started gathering.

I think the hifonics is a good fit for those subs as they are mainstram subs also, the amp will easily put out 2K, mostly reliability should be your concern with hifonics so you should not abuse it and be aware that there's some chance you will need to RMA it at some point.

On the box based on the specs they give and your dimensions, here is a slot ported suggestion, power: to sub(s) rated, amp subsonic filter to 28Hz, minimum port clearance 5", figure is just an assembly guide:

This should do well, if you still want to do a round port design 2 6" ports should be used but to reach the 32-33Hz you want (and porting back) they would need to be rather long, which you would need to do with PVC, so long that it would result in a rather narrow and deep box and you would need to flare the PVC yourself (or get flares) to get it done (since PSP ports port max length are only 17" - BTW are very expensive ). A bit impractical IMO so I would go with the slotted version above.

I am a past Hifonics owner. It will not do 2k.

Maybe your unit didn't do them or you tried with an input power below 14.4V or you tested another series but check this post:

If you don't know this member, take a look at his SPL advise thread, he has a link on his sig for it.

Anyways as said before the subs are probably in the same class, to me if he were to upgrade I'd just suggest him to upgrade everything not just the amp.

Hey So my amp said it was CEA certified and would do 2400w at 1ohm I just purchased it and can return it, but if it does 2400w and is certifed at that why is it garbage its the new model. Heres a link and this is where i bought it from http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_67936_Hifonics-BRX2400.1D-Brutus-BRX-2400.1D.html

Im ok with being told if something is wrong or not bad quality i appreciate it just dont need to be so raw about it hahaha.

Thank you so much for your help do you think it would work well if the subs and ports were on the same side? I think I would kinda like that look a little better?

Most SUVs work best subs up /port back but it can be done firing everything back if for some reason you want that.

On the amp the older BRZ series did around rated to 14.4V (which many cars don't reach) according to a few sources one of which I cited above, I imagine BRX will also do but someone has to confirm that. Since you only need 2K I am pretty sure the amp will work ok on your system, that being said there's much better stuff to have than what you purchased, if this your first system likely it will be enough for a while.

You will need electrical upgrades to maintain 14.4V @ 2K+ power, if your voltage drops enough all the time it may damage your equipment, you will probably notice you enter protect when you turn it up and later on either the subs or the amp could get damaged.

yes additional batteryis required for hifonics are power hungry,

for any amp 2k will need big 3 to 1/0 and additional battery and alt up to par, not on its way out.

this is especially true with the hifonics amp, i actually had ordered that same amp. but was backordered and i just got the p1000x1 instead.

the box design that was posted is how i would do it
