no, but your cone might fold but you need to be running a lot of power for that to happen. the worst that could happen is it doesnt sound good.

I see people run subs in 4th orders when ts Params say not to how do they get away with this and why does the manufacturer say not to run sealed if you obviously can

Because you're well and able to run a sub in a sealed enclosure, but the T/S parameters may FAVOR a ported enclosure. Very few subs I've seen are 100% one or the other. Most are fairly dual purpose, but most work better in one or the other.

Is there a specific sub you have in mind so we can be specific, or are you just asking a general question. If the latter, all we can give is general advice.

I'll add that just because a sub is able to do something does not mean it is able to do it well. You can run just about any sub in just about any type of enclosure and it will make noise. I suspect there are a lot of setups out there built by naive people that are significantly less than ideal, they just don't know any better.

The easier it is to understand your question the more likely you are to get help.

This should be posted on main page of forum. Or sent by pm or whatever to every new member.

I understand it is common sense but you cant buy that sh*t at the store you know.

Still learning but have started gathering.

It will just sound less then perfect really. You won't end up damaging the sub unless you do something stupid. But the best box in the world can't protect against stupidity.
