igot80hd Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 OK so I'm getting into the bigger stuff and I have 2 hdc3 15's in a 32 hz box and now I'm going to get a amp to power them and have decided on the sq 3500. Question is what will I need to do to power it properly? I have a 96 grand Cherokee stock alternator with 2 optima yellow tops.

hdorre Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 For my ampere 3800 and Populus 3500 setups at 1 ohm, I had a singer 230 and 2 G24 AGMs Held ~13 idle, mid/high 13s revved So.. I really didn't even dip into batt rest. RainStryke Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 What impedance are you planning on running?
igot80hd Posted November 19, 2014 Author Report Posted November 19, 2014 What impedance are you planning on running? I got the dual 1 ohm sub's, I plan to not go any lower than 1 ohm or 2 ohms. Don't plan to push these to the max just wanna give them their RMS maybe a tad more with out the amp breaking a sweat.

One thing I'll add is the fact you dont need to get XS power batts, while they would be nice and are better than most other brands it is not a necessity. I have C&D batts and others run Diehard batts from local stores. So yes some batts and a HO alternator of course. If he gets a HO alt, he shouldn't really be dipping into reserve anyway. igot80hd Posted November 21, 2014 Author Report Posted November 21, 2014 I have a friend wanting to sell me his ampere 3800.1 for 500. Is that a good deal or should I pass. It has a brand new board in it. And he's willing to include his toolmaker dual inputs?
hdorre Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 The whole board was replaced? Why was it repair originally?
