Think I Received wrong Sundown

After talking with dealer, he keep saying its a dual 2. Asked for a refund or just even order me a new sub, but received a no for both answers at time. He's suppose to contact sundown today and see what they say, but I doubt he will. I think I got screwed by dealer, but if thats what these subs read, so be it.

At the same time if you did get screwed where do you think he gets stock from?

And sundown tend to be pretty damn good with the customer service. Wait and see what they say.

i shook this one kids hand and it just folded in mine. long story short i fucked his girlfriendso.. yeah..

You want this to happen to you? Give decent handshakes people.

I emailed sundown right before posting a few minutes ago asking them if ohm readings I had sounded right. Couldn't find a phone number to call directly

Emmet, sorry it came off as that. Im not talking bad about dealer, thats why I didnt mention name or location. I just want to get what I paid for, but as said, if its suppose to read those numbers I will accept it and move on.

my DD subs are D2 and read 2.7 on the multimeter

if they were lower impedance than advertised, that would be dangerous in the sense of wiring your amp too low on accident

DC resistance and impedance are NOT the same thing. I'm surprised no one has said this yet.

It DOES should like you received the wrong sub, the readings should be relatively close in DCR.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Gunnem, you are correct about going to low for amp, but I don't want a 1000 watt amp pushing 500 cause it sees a higher load (i would like it close to stated ohm as possible)

Why don't you just call Sundown yourself? Your making this much bigger of a problem then it needs to be

Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do that
I can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows

came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream.

oh lawd.

Okay so here is what I am reading and seeing....

--Your meter shows a load of 2-2.3 while in the box, so I assume the sub is wired in parallel

--You meter shows 3.4-4.3 per coil when outside the box

--The shop that sold the sub to you meter shows 2.8-3.2 I assume that was per coil

To me it sounds like someone's meter needs a new batteries or an upgrade. I have seen meters show bad reading with weak battery's. But if it was me I would get a new battery for your meter and re read the coils. If the readings still are off then reach out to Sundown. Take pictures of the readings, if it came in a box take a pic of that since it has the coil config on it and give them a quick write up of what's happening.
