StreetMetalBen Posted November 30, 2014 Report Posted November 30, 2014 Hey guys, So Im building an Treo TE-15 4th order box for my girlfriends 98 camry. It has a very decent size trunk, and I'm hoping she will out grow the single 15 soon so I can squeeeeeeeze another 15 in there. :-) I want to build this box the most efficient way possible, and then perfect the design when i build a new box for 2. She listens to everything from Trap ~trance~Hardstyle, so i would love to have the box tuned to the highest HZ possible. But Can the box be tuned too high? Would I need a better driver than the TE series to get the results im looking for? Thanks!!
Triticum Agricolam Posted November 30, 2014 Report Posted November 30, 2014 You can definitely tune too high, why are wanting to tune as high as possible? StreetMetalBen Posted November 30, 2014 Author Report Posted November 30, 2014 With alot of edm Music, there are a few artists that have tracks using enjoyable notes in that range. Tuning a 4th order that high SHOULD still allow a range all the way down to what the sealed box allows right?

Well you haven't given a number for how high you are wanting to tune, and no, that is not how bandpass boxes work exactly. StreetMetalBen Posted December 1, 2014 Author Report Posted December 1, 2014 The perfect size port for my Opening put s the port at 69HZ, but Ive always heard never tune over 60 for Music. So I feel i would like to get close to that number, if a TE driver will work in that enviorment
StreetMetalBen Posted December 1, 2014 Author Report Posted December 1, 2014 Also is there any tricks i need to know for Designing a ported section of a 4th order with Torres?
diegoclass2010 Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 what do you plan on giving the sealed and ported sides?
StreetMetalBen Posted December 1, 2014 Author Report Posted December 1, 2014 1.7 Sealed 5.5 Ported With 4" 45* in loading corners 4" of external port Driver Mounted in the Ported Section.
Triticum Agricolam Posted December 2, 2014 Report Posted December 2, 2014 How much port area does that work out to? "Nothing prevents people from knowing the truth more than the belief they already know it.""Making bass is easy, making music is the hard part."Builds:
diegoclass2010 Posted December 2, 2014 Report Posted December 2, 2014 so i see your going with a 1 to 3 ratio... thats going to be huge box... are you going to build in side the trunk? x2 much port area are going give it?. i would also not tune it that high, stay any where from 40-50 hz
