MusicHead804
would it be a good idea to run a soundstream ta3000.1 on 2 hds312s at .5 ohms?
RainStryke
Do you have the electrical set-up to handle that kind of power? What do you have done to your vehicle?
reedal
It wouldn't be wise to run an amp that is supposed to be rated for 2500w@1ohm at .5 ohm instead with two subs that are rated total rms together for 2400 watts, no matter how good your electrical is to support the current draw. But if you want to and think it will be ok, go for it. Only one way to find out for sure. RainStryke
If they sent you the wrong ones, they should fix the order.
MusicHead804
i honestly dont feel like going through the wait again. so im just gonna keep them and try and find a amp
RainStryke
I have a pair of HDS312 D2's and finding an amplifier for what I need is an absolute pain in the butt... I've considered a .5OHM load as well, but the amplifiers that get me where I want to be are either really expensive, or too cheap to be the quality I want. Going with a pair of D4's make the search a lot less complicated.
MusicHead804
I've been planning and looking for amps to run at 1ohm until i got these subs in the mail and they were wrong
RainStryke
If you decide to keep them, I have mine running around 900w RMS, maybe 1200w dynamic RMS... They are plenty loud, but they barely move... I've been looking into used amplifiers. Like an Alpine MRX-M240 and Alpine MRP-M2000 that would get me around 2000w RMS. Cheaper brands can get you raw power, but it's not as clean and does not sound as good. If you have a limit of about $300, i'd check into a Alpine MRX-M110. Ahmed Johnson
Whats the amp rating at 2 ohm? If it's close to the subs rms I would run it at 2 ohm
