Guest Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 If I have an AGM battery in the front and a different size/rating/brand agm battery in the back, is that bad? Both connected in parallel and powered off the same alternator. And would you have to charge each battery individually or could you charge both from the one under the hood?
ImaNoob Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 I think as long as they are both agms it would be ok..id wait for more responses though 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Xs3400 1500BDCP FI BL 12 3sq @ 32hz Rockford t675 T400.2 Stinger Deadner Build Log Here

SIDE SHOW Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 it's not bad, but it's not good...... I always suggest running the exact same age & type batterys when wired together. this makes sure both batterys are equivelant to each other and the weaker one is't bringing down the voltage of the other one.
ImaNoob Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 Yeah i was going to ask about resting voltage on the two.....You can charge both from up front.. 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Xs3400 1500BDCP FI BL 12 3sq @ 32hz Rockford t675 T400.2 Stinger Deadner Build Log Here

Even if you use an XS Power D series battery in combination with an XS Power XP series?

Sorry double post. So the resting the voltage of two unequal battery will be lower?
Miguels Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 there is nothing wrong with it and no they dont have to be the same size or age.. as long as they are the same technology and both batteries are in working condition nothing will get damage.. the older battery wont drag the new battery. the only way it will if it has a bad cell. if they are close it resting voltage there is no harm even if one battery is 4 years old my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/

That is what I was thinking! In a dual battery setup would you run a fuse between the two batteries as well?
SIDE SHOW Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 I've had 4 batterys die due to one (the older one each time) dropping a cell..... tis the only reason I recommend the same batts.
