Gladen, Mosconi, audison are other brands you should check out.

Just for your knowledge, you won't hear a difference between 150W and 200W, not even between 100W and 150W.

This shouldn't dissapoint either.

Rules of thumb oversimplify things. The difference is not between 150 and 200. Its in the power supply and can it deal with the speakers impedance dip over the frequency spectrum.

the rule of thumb is based on the assumption that a amplifier that is rated higher MAY have a better power supply/circuitry to deal with the impedance dip which if not sufficient will cause distortion which actually is audible.

What impedance dip, there is only 1?

Rule of thumbs are always useless.

I doubt anyone will hear that difference when the gain is set correctly. (there is a 1 million challenge by the way.)

Thinking is the root of all problems...

You ALWAYS get what you pay for.

The link never said anything about 1 impedance dip, it stated it correctly, the impedance of a speaker changes with frequency.

Any decent amp, even most crappy amps today will be able to drive any speaker without causing distortion unless you set the gain wrong.

It's information is outdated and sometimes wrong..(i mean they still think they can hear a difference with a different power cable/RCA's/loudspeaker cable.)

All nice amps, wow so much to choose from. I was looking at the Mosconi AS200.4, and the sound stream 2 channel amp, ref 2.640. If anyone can give me some info on these 2 amps it would be greatly appreciated. I am by no means comparing them just want some insight on the quality of both and if or not the sound stream are just as good as the old ones. I have been doing the research on them both but want some info from people who have used these two amps.

This is my .02, all of these amps come from highly reputable names and make great products! I can only personally say I have experience with Crescendo but DC and Arc Audio are just as amazing if not better. That said, I know almost every Crescendo amp is underrated. If money isn't an issue, you could always invest in a top of the line Rockford Power series amp, those things are badass!

Crescendo - http://store.crescendoaudio.com/c1100-4/

180w x 4 4ohm

Arc Audio - http://www.arcaudio.com/p/xdi-600-4?pp=24

150w x 4 4ohm

DC - http://www.dcsoundlab.com/175k.html

175w x 4 4ohm

If you are going for anything close to sq, I have heard most of soundstreams new stuff is not all that great. Alot of people really hate it tbh, but to each his own. Anything Mosconi would be really nice quality though just saying! :)

If you are going for sq, understand that simply buying super nice gear does not mean you automatically get sound quality. Most sound quality is obtained the install. Good luck!

Yes this i know, I have been into car audio for quite a while. I also have used a lot of rockford products, I have 2 bdcp 1500s that will be going on 2 ssa icons, in a t line. Just need to get the right amp for the mids and highs. Was running a Zed audio draconia, very nice sound quality but amp had issues. Now I want to do something bigger and better.
