la negra Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 id try a different cd player like it was said above
r.sok Posted December 29, 2014 Author Report Posted December 29, 2014 Subtractive eq did the trick. I get a tiny hiss above volume 33 (I don't listen to music that high though & max volume is at 40). But now my mid bass lacks. If I add +3 on anything with my eq curve then I'll get a hiss. I can max out the volume with no clipping but mid bass is now lacking
r.sok Posted December 29, 2014 Author Report Posted December 29, 2014 Amp puts out 75w rms at 4 ohms. My hybrid audio components can handle 120rms at 4ohms. Do I need to bridge them to get my mid bass back? Won't upping the wattage also increase hiss at the same time? My doors have all been properly sealed so there is mid bass, just not as much as is like
r.sok Posted December 29, 2014 Author Report Posted December 29, 2014 Bridged everything now all is good. My new fosgate rca cables come in today. In terms if sound quality would it be worth it to swap them over? I'm currently running some autozone rca wires. I know it doesn't make any sense running a quality amp, $600 components & cheap rcas but just used what I had on hand
MrSkippyJ Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 how did you have it hooked up before you bridged the amp? something isn't quite adding up in my head, I'm sure I am missing something here. r.sok Posted December 30, 2014 Author Report Posted December 30, 2014 Amp is a 6 channel, before I had the components not bridged in channels 1/2 receiving 75 rms. < this along with subtractive eq got rid of the hiss but my mid range lacked. Now I have the components bridged using channels 1/2--3/4 so they receive 150rms< this fixed my mid range issue. If I used more than +3 on my eq anywhere it would introduce a hiss so turning it up wasn't an option for me
r.sok Posted December 30, 2014 Author Report Posted December 30, 2014 My new Rca cables came in, I was thinking i needed it to fix the hiss or improve clarity, now I'm not sure If I should install them or just keep them as spares, My current ones do not pick up any alternator whine/pop. They are however wires I had awhile ago from autozone. Question is do you think in your opinion it would be worth it to swap them anyway? It would take me quite a bit of time just to replace them

MrSkippyJ Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 Oh so you weren't using channels 3&4 before? F150: Stock 2019 Harley Road Glide: Amp: TM400Xad - 4 channel 400 watt Processor: DSR1 Fairing (Front) 6.5s -MMats PA601cx Lid (Rear) 6x9s - TMS69
r.sok Posted December 30, 2014 Author Report Posted December 30, 2014 Oh so you weren't using channels 3&4 before? Previously channels 3/4 Were used for my rear speakers, Now I use channels 5/6 to power the rears & have a seperate dedicated subwoofer amp. When I first started, My plan was to amp up the front door speakers, rear door speakers & Rear decklid speakers so I figured I needed a 6 channel amp. That Didnt go as planned & I deleted the Rear 6x9 decklid speakers all together, The front stage sounded much better without it
