PURE~PRESSURE Posted January 27, 2015 Author Report Posted January 27, 2015 Should be fine I would just recommend mounting the amplifier itself to a board first then mount the board to the frame/metal or whatever your mounting it to in the car Alright , today redid my kick speaker boxes. I already had the boxes laying around which housed 6x9's originally so I simply put a 6 inch baffle over the existing 6x9 hole. BLUE LED'S were also added to the speaker grills Never understood why PRV Gives 3 wattage ratings? Yes very ugly indeed lol Its sealed with heavy duty wood glue and sealant. I'ts air tight tho. LED strip placed on backside of speaker grill Black carpet to cove imperfections lol LED wiring and 14 gauge speaker wire. Polyfill added also. (((Don't mind the terminals i changed them out))) Wiring up LED strip for speaker grill New vs old Clean Test fitting Light testing Next updates are as followed :AMPLIFIER REPAINT :FINISH AMPLIFIER RACK BEHIND REAR SEAT :SUBWOOFER BOX REBUILD:HEADUNIT REWIRING
PURE~PRESSURE Posted February 13, 2015 Author Report Posted February 13, 2015 Been a minute...but today I just brought some head rest monitors and a new deck for the accord. The thing I like most about the deck is that it comes with a 13 Band EQ. Also lots of other octave controls, so that I can fine tune the system. ~PIONEER AVH-x1700s ~(2) 9" GRAVITY LCD monitors Depending on how i'm feelin i'll probably wire it tommorrow.
PURE~PRESSURE Posted March 2, 2015 Author Report Posted March 2, 2015 Alright so basicly I will be redoing the whole system. It still will be an overkill with mid and highs but this time around the speakers will now be playing only specific frequency ranges. I will clarify what I mean by showing a quick chart were I will be crossing over the speakers. I will also be rebuilding my trunk . The stock gray carpet will be overlapped with new jet black carpet . The tiny Pre-fab box that I have will also be replaced with a custom box that I am working on at the moment. I have a couple of pics of that also. The new system will have 4 Amps instead of the 3 and I will be tossing out the 4 band eq since theres really no need for it anymore since I have the new PIONEER AVH-X1700DVD HEAD UNIT, (13band eq + crossovers). ((((NOTE))))) dont worry about the spl I just wanted to show crossover points. Decent subs even tho most dont like kicker subs Not sure if I wanna do 4 or 6 MID BASS speakers yet. 4 up front 2 in the rear shelf not sure yet. But there will be 1 MID-RANGE in each door. As for the BULLETS/DOME TWEETS There will be 1 of each in each door. I will double post pictures of the new custom box I started for the SUBS.
PURE~PRESSURE Posted March 2, 2015 Author Report Posted March 2, 2015 For the SUB box I decided to tune to 35 Hertz and make the box much bigger than the Pre-Fab box External Dimensions - 30"x13"x26" Internal Dimensions - 28.5"x11.5"x24.5" Volume - 4.6 Cubes Volume after woofer and port Displacement - About 4.2 Cubes Tuning - 35 HERTZ Port assembled Test fitting port Time to double baffle I know i know i need clamps Stock 6x9 for size comparison .Tomorrow I will work on it some more and get some more pics up.
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 What are the dimensions of your port? That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
PURE~PRESSURE Posted March 2, 2015 Author Report Posted March 2, 2015 Inner 10.5 x 9.5 x 2.75 Tuning round 34-35ish
Evnldr Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 Looks good so far nice progress in ability. One thing I would do is get black carpet like from Pep boys the thick stuff and where the OSB is showing carpet over it. It will take some skill but the end result is bad ass. http://i1260.photobucket.com/albums/ii561/Jeffrey_Small/IMAG1363_zpsc1c6f818.jpg As in this pic OSB splinters suck ass trust me. PURE~PRESSURE Posted March 2, 2015 Author Report Posted March 2, 2015 I use Winisd they say its not accurate but it works fine when I use it I've made 7 boxes and they all came out fine. How big you suggest for the port? @Evnldr I will be re-building that crap also. I will be using mdf this time. I just wanted something quick the first time. But yes the whole trunk will be black carpet. Parts express has a real good deal on black carpet.
PURE~PRESSURE Posted March 3, 2015 Author Report Posted March 3, 2015 OK so today I finished up putting together the box. I also made a rookie mistake that really pissed me off. Im not going to tell you what I did wrong but you should be able to see what I did wrong. LOL Lets see who all catch the mistake. I also brought some 12+16 GAUGE speaker wire from a wholesale speaker warehouse and made some MID-RANGE and BULLET TWEETER pods for my front doors. Me lol The rookie mistake Thick baffle The 12 gauge The 16 gauge The front door MID-RANGE pods
