Mike Rebman
I have recently traded for a 2001 Chevy Silverado ext cab. I had my old system from my T/A found here: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/190037-4-10s-in-a-4th-gen-trans-am/ I wanted to build a setup to reuse my current subs/amp ect. I didn't want to purchase new equipment just for this vehicle. I did research and kicked around the idea of raising the back seat, but didn't want to risk a bad weld or something if I was ever in an accident and had my kids in the truck. I do plan on doing the folding seat mod to where the back portion will fold down. The equipment: 4 10 in alpine type s subs dual 2 ohm coils. http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/sws-10d2. Amp is a hifonics brx-2400.1. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_67936_Hifonics-BRX2400.1D-Brutus-BRX-2400.1D.html The cap is just something I picked up from a friend needing some money. I paid 40 bucks for the cap I think. Any way on to the build. I am using 3/4 in MDF material. I started from the bottom and worked my way up. The first set of pictures was just for figuring out clearance issues and such, this also gave me the opportunity to take some basic measurements. First bits of material cut: Side panels: Top plate: Faceplate: After I took this picture I noticed the bulge in the faceplate. The center divider was to wide, I made a new on that corrects this issue and fits in much tighter. Cutout for the subs, I like my router and my homemade circle jig I have to fiberglass the trans tunnel hump and I have to glass in the curve at the top of the faceplate. So far so good, I cannot devote a bunch of time to this so I have only been at this for a few hours on my weekends. Since I have kids I need to either purchase grills or make something custom to keep my kids from kicking my subs while they ride in the back seat. More build pics and info to come as I progress on this build.
hoit
looks great, but when you sit in the seat, does it kinda throw you back like you're reclining? maybe its just the angle the pic was taken. 2007 Chevy Aveo Ls sedan 2 Sundown Xv2 on scv4k @ .5 ohm 2 pair RE XXX 6.5 components on sax200.4 @ 2 ohm Big Three, Three runs 1/0 power from front to back, 1 ground front to back Two runs ground from rear bank to chassis XS power d3100 upfront, 3 Odyssey 2150s in bank Singer 220 amp alt
Mike Rebman
Seat fits in the stock location, it isn't pitched up at all. It's completely down as from the factory.

Mike Rebman
Without considering wood thickness and basket displacement I am at 2 cft per side. these subs sealed will run as low as 0.5 cft each to 0.85cft

hoit
so...this WILL be a sealed enclosure...id try to get the internal volume as close to .85 per sub as possible...you can always add filler. but its lookin great! stay warm bro!
