If I have 8 of them, I can't get 1 ohm. If I have 3 of them, I can get 1 ohm. If your subs are Dual 4 then with 8 of them you CAN get 1 ohm. DVC means nothing. You can have Dual 0.5's, Dual 1's, Dual 2's, Dual 32's.... whatever. DVC = Dual Voice Coil It does not mean ANYTHING about ohm load, except you can choose between 2 of them. Torres Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 DVC = Dual Voice CoilIt does not mean ANYTHING about ohm load, except you can choose between 2 of them. not necessarily. if i have one sub that's a 2 ohm sub...if it's DVC i can get a 1 ohm load, or a 4 ohm load. if i have 2 ohm sub that's a **SVC** i can wire it straight up and get only a 2 ohm load. only other way to change it would be to add more speakers. so it still has something to do with the ohm load. granted...most speakers are DVC...but still somethin that should be listed when giving info imo. Oh I totally agree with you, just if people either state the ohmage or the number of coils, instead of both, it's completely and utterly useless to us I was trying to say that DVC on it's own means nothing except that there are 2 possible impedances Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
