SundownZ71 Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 As the topic says, how can I make my system sound more solid? All I have right now is 2 SA-15's on a Crescendo S1500 in a 04 Tahoe, and everything shakes. Worst spot is the center of the headliner where the dome light/ac controls are. Only small amount of deadener I have is on the doors. Would a lot more deadener on the doors and headliner help? Need some other input, thanks in advance.
Karkov Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 Even with deadener your interior panels will still shake and possibly make noise. I added shit tons of deadener all over my vehicle and then applied it to the back side of the interior pieces before re-installing them. I feel as though it makes a difference. One of my pet peeves is people who install their stereo with the idea of deadening later (not talking about you but just in general). First thing I do on my vehicles is gut them and add sound deadener, (1996 Astro, 2004 Alero, 1997 Silverado, 1991 Mustang, 2004 Cobra, 2007 Tahoe, 2004 Grand caravan) just my own personal thing even if it doesn't have stereo in it. I would start with that. Also, i am just curious what your set up is exactly, you got any pictures you can post? 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. Also I'm on my iPhone and I'm not sure how to upload photos from it to here, but here is a link to the box.http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j130/SundownZ71/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsltudnys3.jpg It's 8 cubes tuned to 28hz, below the window line. I can play 23-50+ very well, I dig it. The wiring for my amps is messy I must admit, but tucked away under the back seat so they aren't visible.
Karkov Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 8 cubes tuned to 28...disamn..... shit looks dope man, really nice! I didn't mean you about people not doing sound deadener. Sound deadener is not something that is needed and it is extra cost so i get it, people don't always want to do it but to me it's worth it. Thanks man I appreciate it, and surprisingly I have a bunch of knukonceptz and damifier pro deadener lol, I just haven't found the motivation of ripping the headliner out. Doors are easy but there are always excuses.
