Some plywoods are better than others but with the power you are going to be running and the size of the box I would not want to use 5/8" material. Not to say it couldn't be done, but you would have to double or triple up the material in places and brace the tar out of it. It would be a lot of work. I'd use 3/4" OSB if you had to even.
