Gregory Brissitt Posted March 24, 2015 Author Report Posted March 24, 2015 ok well the subs arent wired as yet but i want to do them at 2 ohms...... as for the amps. i hear what your saying and i like the mass ive ,,, just that i only see people reviews on different massive as for this one i wanted some feed back on it .... my system is not for competition the most that will happen is if i am home and want to build a vybz i may want to play it for a few hours. thats all so i really want an amp that will not cut out and that i will give me service for a good while.... as soon as i get every thing i will be uploading my build the only thing i want to get now is just the bass amps .. and them i will up grade the 4ch for my mids so any help u or anyone can give i would be greatful
shanewargore Posted March 24, 2015 Report Posted March 24, 2015 I have 2 of these in 10s and plan to get soundstream rub1.2500d. its around $250. Heard they do rated but need some serious electrical.
shanewargore Posted March 24, 2015 Report Posted March 24, 2015 Since you have 2 ... Dual 4 ohm voice coils can be wired at 1 ohm and 4 ohm. Dual 2 can be wired at .5 and 2 ohm.
reedal Posted March 24, 2015 Report Posted March 24, 2015 ^^ that. You have to know what the impedance of the voice coils are to know what you can wire them to. Do you know that information? Gregory Brissitt Posted March 25, 2015 Author Report Posted March 25, 2015 nope dont have that info and at that level i would have to fine someone who is verse in that field i dont know beyond wiring to two ohms ,, which i think i will do unless the tech can assure me that its safe to go below 2ohm but reallly as i say i am looking for a amp to play these subs. i only got two suggestions the massive and someone just mention the soundstream. still welcome more suggestions better yet the proven ones
reedal Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 You should have that information. You can't just wire any sub(s) to two ohms. The impedance of the voice coils is what gives you your possible wiring configurations. If you have a multimeter, measure the impedance of both voice coils on each sub. If not, try looking at the receipt email from when you bought them. Should say "hds312d2" or d4. You should read up and learn some more on basic car audio before going any farther if you're trying to do this yourself. walwalka Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 You had to choose an impedance before you checked up if you bought them straight from Soundqubed. Did you choose D2 or D4? YOu can look on your order form. The side of the box may even say as well. If you don't really know. You will have to go buy a digital multi-meter to test the coils and see what config they are before we can help you further. Because those impedance will determine what amp you need to buy. 2010 Honda Civic LX / Deck: Kenwood DDX371 / Front Highs: Crescendo RTS-1 / Front Mids: Silver Flute 6.5's / 4 channel: DC Audio 90.4 / Sub: Fi 15in SP4v2 / Sub amp: Taramps HD 5000 / Power wire: Knukonceptz OFC 1/0 / Deadener: Audio Technix 60 mil / Batteries: XS Power D5100R / Rear bank: TBD / Alternator: Singer 240a hairpin
Gregory Brissitt Posted March 25, 2015 Author Report Posted March 25, 2015 ok thanks for your info , as for the subs this is what they are 2 of SoundQubed HDS312-D2 1200W RMS
Triticum Agricolam Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 If those are exactly what you got they are 2 ohm dual voice coil subs. ETA: Apparently I'm dumb and can't do simple math sometimes. Anyway, with those subs you can wire them together to get .5, 2, and 8 ohm final loads. Ahmed Johnson Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 If you got d2 coils then strapped amps or running them at half ohm are your least expensive options
