First, welcome to the forum. You will be better off posting things in the right section. This would be better started in the electrical section. If you take a moment to read and follow the forum rules you will enjoy your stay here much more than if you don't.

On to your problem...

Make and model of everything including vehicle and amp.

Do you have any other aftermarket electrical hooked up?

How did you set your gains?

2 people recommended adding batteries but you never said how low your voltage drops.

How are you arriving at the conclusion that your alternator is being overworked? Meaning what signs/symptoms are you getting?

After answering those we will be off to a good start.

Sometimes it's not easy to post in the right section if you aren't tech savvy. It took me a few times of using fourms to understand how they work. Idk if your a mod or not, but I'd leave the suggestions to them if you aren't, if you are my apologies.

So you are saying I shouldn't try to help him since I'm not a mod? It was friendly advice, you are bound to get better and more help if you post in the right section. I wasn't being rude or yelling at the dude for it. I was offering help, both with the forum and with his issue, unlike your post, which has nothing to do with helping the OP. And if you can find the general section, the others are nearby, it's not a very technically difficult process.

You're only "contribution" is to suggest that I don't make suggestions on how to use the forum unless I'm a mod, which I'm obviously not. So by your logic, what gives you the right to suggest how I use the forum?

I'm just saying stop being a rent a mod, they have people that are appointed to do what you did.
