As most of you know I had my car broken into the other day and my 1911 was stolen... 2nd time this shit has happened at my house ... 1st time was my fiancee's old jeep... I have a feeling it's someone in my general living vicinity and I am tired of having my property messed with...

Can someone recommend a decent motion activated camera system with nightvision that I can place on the front of my house to watch over my stuff so IF this happens again I will have some way to ID these punk a***s...

Thanks

**Car alarms are also being added as soon as I can get the $$**

I have a 4 camera DVR setup around my house. Never had anyone break in....and then a week after the system was installed, it paid off. Someone broke into my car and I had them on tape clear as day. What are the odds?!!? LOL!

Anyway, though mine record 24hrs/7days, I think most DVR systems can be set to only record when motion is detected. Have a looksy.

I will tell you this. Good cameras aren't cheap. Especially when it comes to night vision. At first, I got one of those $250 systems from Zmodo. GARBAGE. The cameras had poor picture, poor field of view and poor night vision. Bought a different higher quality camera to connect in place of one of the Zmodo cameras just to check it out..... and it was like night and day. The Zmodo junk when back to the store and I stepped up and bought some decent gear. Very happy with it.

Oh and you can adjust how many FPS you want to record, in order to adjust how big the file sizes are, so you can record for longer periods of time before overwriting footage. I think I have a 1TB hard drive in there and I can store about 6 days worth of 4 camera footage.

Alarms help alot. But most the time you install them after stuff like this happens. My trucks parked inside, but if i leave it out overnight for whatever reason i sleep with my window open and can't fall into a deep sleep. Paranoia

And just in case, whatever alarm you're buying for the car, make sure it has 2-way functionality. From driveway to inside a single family house, you could probably hear the alarm going off. But if you're visiting a friend or you live in an apartment complex, you often can't hear the alarm going off, but yet, you're well within range of the 2-way paging alert. Just depends on the scenario.
