advice on subs and amp that I bought.

Recently a family member needed money and offered me their stereo equipment for 200$, it is 2 12 inch kicker l5's in a ported box in pretty good condition, a quantum audio qca3500d monoblock amp, a "POWER" series 600 watt battery, and a audiobank capacitor.

I bought the stuff. Was the stuff worth the 200$? has anybody heard of the amp? How bad is it? I figured it was better then nothing considering my suburban has no "BOOM" as of right now, lol. thanks guys

Subs and box could probably snag 200+ alone on CL

Never heard of Quantum Audio so I can't offer solid evidence, but from the looks of it I would think it's similar in quality to power acoustik and the like.

Overall I think if you were to sell it all on CL you could get more than $200, so value wise I think you did o.k.

Beats having no bass, either run it or sell it all and pick up a nice single sub and build your system from there.

I think the main thing is that you were willing to help a family member out and not thinking about profit before you did so. Sell it all and get some stuff you want or install it and just trade out the things you think you need to. Either way you will be happy.

I applaud you for doing what you did for family like BigMan said! I yesterday helped out a teammate by buying a battery from him because it was too much for his ride weight wise and so on.

You can find some good door speakers on budget from many companies including some that are sponsors on this forum.

I have had a Quantum Audio subwoofer, it was pretty decent. Don't really know about the quality of their amplifiers though... If they did their rated wattage we would of heard more about them by now, so I wouldn't expect anything near the numbers they claim their amplifiers can do. It should be more than enough for a pair of L5's though. I'd say you got a good deal on the set-up as long as everything is in decent condition. Looks like you just need a wiring kit and you should be good to go.
