The first thing I knew was that the base was going to be solid. Wood or not, a solid base tight against a piece of steel is a solid base. So, wood on top of that is still solid. Will it move if there's a serious accident, most likely, but not much. I had a later idea of replacing it all with a steel frame, but without welding skills, I didn't have time for that.
