bcharlsen
I did do the lazy way and twist and tape. maybe I should do butt connectors. any other ideas? and could it possibly be a bad unit?
Skullz
Solder and shrink wrap the connections, do it right the first time. I have had butt connectors come loose before so i do not trust them anymore, along with the massive amount of space they take up in very small areas. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2

RainStryke
I doubt it's the head unit, it's probably a loose connection in the wire harness.
bcharlsen
so when I go to install my amp...and I redo wiring? and the problem still comes back. should I contact Pioneer?
RainStryke
If you've had the head-unit less than 30 days, most retailers will take it back for an exchange if the unit is bad. If not, then yes... I would contact Pioneer support and see if they can process and RMA on your issue. I see you mentioned you have a BOSE set-up. What model/year vehicle do you have and what harness are you running?
