Frank Seaton-Gilford
Just purchased my Tahoe and plan to upgrade everything. I'm wondering if it'll be best to run all new wires from the door speakers to the aftermarket amp for Mids & Highs or install them into the stock harness and splice from the Bose Amp connection? The truck came with an aftermarket stereo so I'm sure it has the interface. Thanks
skittlesRgood
you need two threads for the exact same question? If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood. Jhunt94
I like to run all new wire, but that's just meDoes running new wire improve SQ?Honestly I couldn't tell you because I've never tried it the other way. I ran new wires so I could position the amp wherever I wanted and the upgraded speaker wire allows me to be able to upgrade in the future if I decide to run more power than the stock speaker wiring would have been capable of handling. 2007 Ford F-150 Reg. JakeMN
My 2014 dart has an upgraded alpine system and I'm using the stock hu. Unless you plan on getting an aftermarket deck I'd personally run all new wiring because it's either my hu (most likely) or my amp that limits the frequencies to certain channels. One way to get around that is get an expensive processor such as the jbl-ms8 or the Rockford 3sixty.3. This is the problem I'm running into at least and I know for a fact most "premium" audio systems will limit certain frequencies to certain channels/speakers to limit distortion or make it sound better. That's something id definitely look into before you drop a bunch of money and then have to spend even more on a processor or head unit. Bass head in training.
