Swordlordboy1234
thats definitey a big reason as to why you arent getting the movement you want from the subs on the power theyve got. more cone control from a small port for sure. Open that bitch up and those things will start flexing much more id be willing to bet. Yeah right now my current port is 12.5 tall x 2.75 wide. So I figured 13.5 x 3.75 (or 4 depending on my tuning) would be a plenty big increase in port area considering I want to keep my bandwidth as big as possible. I'm also increasing the box size to lower its f3 in the hopes of playing lower then 27hz with authority. And the kerf is half way for looks... But I figured with around 12sq inches of port per cube plus the kerf should insure no chuffing. I'm excited for the rebuild. Swordlordboy1234
What's up with the tiny ports? The kerf if he does it will offset that but I'm a fan of big ole ports need port area to get loud. Yeah that was the idea behind the rebuild. Considering how small my current port is and how small my box is I figured this design with the common port common loading plus all the extra space inside the box and bigger port would be a win in every possible way. Any thoughts on the current design? Reference the numbers written down on paper above. Swordlordboy1234
I ran the same numbers as the drawn box above except a slightly larger port and I got 4.32 cubes 32.3 hz 54sq inches of port 12.5 inches of port per cube. Bump4life
put it this way, i was doing 153 sealed with 130 sq in of port. i could only play down to 30 though. so if you are trying to dip into the 20s well maybe you have what works. 2 12s just isnt enough cone to do it insane with a big port. what you have may be good. but from my experience te bigger the better. then again i like the 35-45 choking bass. if i wanted 20s id get a bunch of 18s in a bandpass Buyer/Seller Feedback Thread: http://www.stevemead...5015-bump4life/ MB C220 153 Trunk Car Build Log: http://www.stevemead...d/#entry1840136 MB C280 Ipad Dash SQ Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194484-bump4lifes-new-benz-tony-c-relay-kit-pictures-ce-electric-audison-front-stage-installed/ My SPL Log: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 BMW M340 xDrive Stock, for now. Swordlordboy1234
Brb, I'm gonna chop the back of my car off and do a wagon convert. I totally disagree there. Literally yesterday, your on my Facebook Daniel.... I did some ref6.1 mids in the truck I built the 2 8's console box in with the embossed logo. That bitch played takin chances like it was a joke. Just as well as Cameron loya's 8 15's 2:1 4th order, just 40db quieter. But for real. We were playing around with termlab and it did 124db at 23hz on takin chances. Peaked at 132.9 at 35 on wobble. Keep in mind this is on music at the headrest on about 400rms. LOL. BESIDES THAT.... I have another surprise. I'm trying to figure out how to make a removable application for a second Zero1. I only want 1 amplifier daily, and I'd like to have a 5k at 1ohm or something of the sorts. Maybe even wire my zero1 that high, we will see. But for heatwave, I'll have 2 quattros and 2 zero1's at .5 stuffed in my trunk. Swordlordboy1234
So I did a full removal of the old system today. Did a 100% rewire... Looks beautiful. Did 80% of my deadening. Steam cleaned all of my car. Who wants pics?
