RainStryke
The SoundQubed HDS300 series paired with their SQ1200.2 amplifier is also a solid set-up for $438 http://www.soundqubed.com/HDS300_c_34.html
afrakes
Also, do you want the same company for both amplifier and subwoofer? Or mix and match? They can be mix and match. The space you have to work with is where you should start. You can't just say it doesn't matter. Yeah I understand... but would a box for my trunk really need to be that big just for one subwoofer? I'm also considering making a custom box to sit in my rear back seat because I'd like to save my wing that's mounted on my trunk.Unless you are taking out your back sat entirely, don't put a box back there. Not worth the hassle/risks. And to answer your question, yes, the box may really need to be that big. Especially when your looking into 15" or 18" subs that require anywhere from 3.5-8 cubic feet of internal space. I would recommend a single 12 on about 1.2k. Sundown sa, dc lvl 3, etc. soundqubed has a nice package deal I would look into if I was you. LoweredA34
Whoa never heard of Soundqubed before, their prices are pretty low for the products they offer. I like the HDS312 which I'll probably upgrade to the carbon fiber dustcap. And I like the Q1-1200.2D Amp, but since it's 2 channel wont the subwoofer only get 600 watts? Sorry I'm such a noob lol... I know I've read somewhere about bridging amplifiers or something like that, is that what I would have to do? To make the subwoofer receive the amp's full power? Thanks to everyone for the input you're all really helping me get a better idea of what to spend my money on!
juan777
Get an HDS312 Dual 2 ohm and wire it + to + and - to - That will drop to a 1 ohm load for the amp Soundqubed is very budget friendly, I recommend the HDS series to all my friends since their budget is always similar to yours. These are HDS2s but you get the drift.
