Bob Tzimenatos Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Life had gotten in the way of my bass addiction. Marriage, kids, house, etc etc. i used to compete in IASCA SQ in the late '90's. Wayne Harris, Fishman, the incredible Alpine SEMA cars. I'm now 47, and started considering a system. Back in the day I had over 10 grand in my system- a buck a watt was the going rate for quality amplification- a/d/s, Precision Power, Rockford. I am really impressed with the power you guys are dumping into today's subs. So, with a handful of cash, I started building this little system. Starting with a Sony XSP-N1BT head unit, Pioneer GM 6100F for mids/highs, a pair of 15 year old Kenwood 6x9's in custom baffles in the doors, a Pioneer GM-D8601 for subs, driving a Kicker S12L5 D4 in a ported box I built. Following are a few pics. I'm really impressed with the power this system makes, especially considering I've got less than $600 in the whole thing. Next upgrade is going to be front stage- a pair of 6-1/2's i each door and tweets on the sails. After that It's gonna be Soundqubed on the low end- a SQ1200.2 and a pair of HDS312's.
