Do I have strong electrical for .5 ohm?

Recommended Posts

The electrical:

Big Three

250A Alternator

x1 S3400 under the hood

x1 D3400 in the back

I have a .5 stable amp(BC5500D) and my wiring options are .5 or 2 ohms.

I was surprised to see Steve was able to run a 7K setup on just a 270A alternator and 4 XS Batteries in his Lexus IS-F.

When I ran .5 on my 3500, I had a 270a singer, d6500 and d3100 and I would drop to 13.6 at lowest.

I would get another 3100 or two.

If I am correct not too sure if I am. Don't you use only the alternator voltage until it drops into 12.8 which is what the battery sits at?

Meaning if I have a 2k watt amp on a 270a alt with 1 d3100 battery and it drops to 13.5

If I put a 370a alt with the same batteries will the voltage drop be less?

I am trying to understand why people say to use a lot of batteries in stereos. Is the battery being used at all when your voltage is above 12.8?

Because the odds of you never hitting reserve are slim. More reserve longer play time. You have to have a balance between charge and reserve unless you can provide more charging than demand
