evermaxx Posted July 4, 2015 Report Share Posted July 4, 2015 When I ran .5 on my 3500, I had a 270a singer, d6500 and d3100 and I would drop to 13.6 at lowest. I would get another 3100 or two. Don't you use only the alternator voltage until it drops into 12.8 which is what the battery sits at? Meaning if I have a 2k watt amp on a 270a alt with 1 d3100 battery and it drops to 13.5 If I put a 370a alt with the same batteries will the voltage drop be less? I am trying to understand why people say to use a lot of batteries in stereos. Is the battery being used at all when your voltage is above 12.8?
