mjdonahue23 Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 hey guys, so about a month ago my subs quit playing i had a hifonics 1600 and the plastic housing in the positive terminal melted but i just assumed it fried the amp. i just got a new amp to day and it still wont play i pulled out the subs and there not fried and they still read there ohms. any ideas on why it wont play. ? 1995 geo prizm lsi 2003 chevy tahoe2 sound qubed HDS34 tuned @ 25hrzs dxspower d1200pioneer deh-x9500bhs
130db

bluethunder Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 what amp did you install? also have you metered the speaker terminals on the amp to ensure it is seeing a load from the subs. next thing to check would be if rcas are actually sending a signal if all that checks out could be a faulty amp. could be something as simple as not connecting something back in the box when you checked your subs.
mjdonahue23 Posted July 17, 2015 Author Report Posted July 17, 2015 i checked the RCAs and i had no voltage coming from them, i just got the back of the deck out and checked there to but i have nothing so would that be my head unit then is bad ? 1995 geo prizm lsi 2003 chevy tahoe2 sound qubed HDS34 tuned @ 25hrzs dxspower d1200pioneer deh-x9500bhs
130db

reedal Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 You can't see signatures when using mobile. So I'm not clicking on full screen to check what your signature says and I'm sure most others won't either. Blown pico fuse End thread. mjdonahue23 Posted July 17, 2015 Author Report Posted July 17, 2015 The fuze on the the back of the deck is blown I don't know what a pico fuze is? 1995 geo prizm lsi 2003 chevy tahoe2 sound qubed HDS34 tuned @ 25hrzs dxspower d1200pioneer deh-x9500bhs
130db
reedal Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 A pico fuse is in the deck for the RCA's. But if the visible fuse on the back of your deck is blown that could very well be the issue instead. Replace that. That shouldn't have even allowed the HU to turn on if it was blown SMD Tool Map https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/193176-smd-tool-map-new-november-2014/ Build log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/197217-reeds-03-tahoe-hat-sqaq-singer-xs-shca-cockbox-80prs/?page=32
