reedal Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 Personally I'd get an alt first. Just because your power requirements right now don't require one, one day you'll want to go bigger, then again and again. Might as well bite the bullet sooner than later. THEN buy the 1500bdcp, or when you saved up enough to. graham0599 Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 I have had subs for a few years now and I really want to upgrade. I have a Rockford Fosgate T1D212 and I am going to get another one of those as well as the t1500-BDCP. I have no idea how to wire them, what to use to wire them, what head unit to get, and everything else. I am putting all of this in a new car and I really just want to get a decent system bumping. If anyone could help me out with this that would be awesome. How to wire: parallel-series wiring for a 2ohm load what to use to wire: at least 4ga. Luckily chargers have the battery in the trunk so you won't need a long wire. Personally, get the largest gauge wire you can fit/afford, it's better to have too much than not enough Headunit: depends how much you wanna spend and what features you want I'd suggest doing the "Big 3" upgrade, there's tons of pages on how to do that. If you can, extra battery. I don't think you really need a HO alt but it won't hurt anything at all, if you can afford it My 350z build- http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/174424-2008-350z-build/page-2?hl=%2B350z+%2Bbuild#entry2605678
xAporia Posted July 25, 2015 Author Report Posted July 25, 2015 So what would be a good extra battery for the two T1s and the T1500-BDCP? And should I get a capacitor?
reedal Posted July 25, 2015 Report Posted July 25, 2015 No. Don't get a capacitor. Get either the XS power d3100 or xp3000. Or if you have money to blow, their new lithium 15k and you won't need to buy another battery until you're running 10kW+. I'd upgrade your starting battery to an AGM as well. Edit: but you might not need an extra battery for that amp. Upgrade your starting battery, see how your voltage pans out, and you can add one of the larger AGMs if you need to, or go ahead and buy a HO because you're going to want more power one day SMD Tool Map https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/193176-smd-tool-map-new-november-2014/ Build log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/197217-reeds-03-tahoe-hat-sqaq-singer-xs-shca-cockbox-80prs/?page=32
xAporia Posted July 27, 2015 Author Report Posted July 27, 2015 Would it be cheaper to buy an extra battery or upgrade my stock batt?
