LoweredA34
I listen to Rap 90% of the time. 10% of the time I listen to country. I have 2 CT Sound Strato 10 inch woofers which will be wired to 1 ohm and powered by an SAE-1000. A friend and I are building a box. We can get the dimensions ourselves, however, he is saying we should tune to 35 hz, but I'm still hooked on 33 hz. Could I please get some elaboration and clarification on proper hz tuning for the subwoofers I have, and the music I listen to? I hate listening to music where there are lows, and my box won't allow those lows to flow freely. That is my main concern. Any help would be wonderful! Triticum Agricolam
You will never hear the difference between 33 Hz and 35 Hz tunings. Changes in temperature can shift the tuning of your box a Hz or two in either direction anyway. Also the box calculators used to determine port length aren't exact so you could build the box 100% right and still be off on your tuning a Hz or two. With that being said, I prefer lower tunings, so if it was me I'd shoot for the 33 Hz tune, if not lower. dsw422
if you want listen to lower freq music(decaf, rap), then id tune pretty low. the lower you tune, the lower ur woofer will play(with out damaging from over excurion). id reccommend tuning around 30 -35. set ur low pas filter around 24-26. 2014 Ford Focus SE Sedan Factory Sony 10 Speaker Sound System 1994 Ford Bronco Dual head unit (i kno) Sony door speakers Kenwood Rear Speakers Custom Center console in the works. will house an NVX NSW10" https://m.facebook.com/WinnsCustomCarAudio/

BigManAC
The difference between the two is minuscule. As long as your box is not pesky you will be fine. You also have to take in account the the resonance fq of your car will effect the tuning a bit as well. 2001 Saturn L200-Sony MEX-BT4100PFRONT STAGE:- (4) Crescendo PWX 6- Cadence XA250.2SUB STAGE:-Fi Audio BL 15 (Sealed Off)-Crescendo BC2kELECTRICAL:- Singer 240A alt - XS Power D3400- SkyHigh OFC power/speaker wire- Big 3 with SkyHigh 0gaugeBuild Log: Click HereScores: 146.5db @ 29hz Outlaw

I believe you mean subsonic at 24-26 which may or may not be the proper set point most likely not. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
