Sky High Car Audio

I've seen @goodvibez videos and know he's here on this forum. I never wanted LEDs until I seen that. I have some n00b questions:

I need 1 controller. Right? Thats it?

What about modules? http://skyhighcaraudio.net/details#cid=1023950 are the the modules per zone? So I would take 1 module and put it to a strip http://skyhighcaraudio.net/details#cid=1023953

now with the module I am able to remotely change the color of the strip? am I able to have them independent colors per zone or I would need two controllers for that?

So controller -> module -> strip.

Someone should make a video on how to do this stuff properly! STEVE! haha.

To be completely honest, if I were you, I'd get an all inclusive kit for your vehicle instead of piecing different items together. I would recommend a kit from www.xkglow.com or www.ledunderbody.com I ran the million color underbody/wheel well/interior/under the hood/and bed lighting in my F150 all from LedUnderbody and just installed a XK kit last night and loved the ease of installation.

well one of the things I kind of wanted to do was have a underbody flash when the alarm was going off. So besides screaming: "hey get away from me" with the alarm.. the lights would blink blue, red or both together.

also I wanted to do something like this on the lights.. but it can change colors. Im looking at the links you sent me too.

The modules are just little mini led strips. They don't actually control anything. They're handy if you just want a little area illuminated, or I've seen some use them under the seats. The strips are just longer and can be cut to length. As far as the controller goes, skyhigh's website says it outputs 12 amps. As long as you don't exceed a 12 amp current draw (led's are low power anyway), one controller should be fine. The website doesn't say the amp draw of the led's, but maybe it says on some paperwork in the box (never bought any, just know about leds). Also, if you want underbody and interior. You could do epic lighting inside, and the underbody kit of your choice. I've seen Jon from skyhigh use the waterproof strips under his trucks and they do just fine. Also the alarm flash, I don't know what alarm you have or how it works, and even if I did it probably wouldn't help much. Alarms normally have a light output or something of the sort to trigger your headlights or blinkers when the alarm is going off. Maybe tap into that with a relay to trigger the led's. I would wire in some diodes to prevent the current from backfeeding when your alarm triggers or when you just turn the led's on through the controller. Please take the alarm advice with a grain of salt. Someone who knows alarms a lot better could tell you more.

I would say about that...3-4 rolls...each roll is 15' so 45-60ft of led's....mine are bright and Ive got a good amount lol!

If you need more power they are coming out with amplifiers which allow you to run still use one controller but gives it more juice if you have so many that they become dim.

This was in another Epic Lighting thread.
