Box design for Kicker L7 15

Recommended Posts

I bought a kicker l7 15 dvc 4 ohm that I am going to run on a MB Quart 1500.1 at 2 ohm final load. I want the box tuned to 32hz and I want the port firing to the driver side and sub facing up. MAX dimensions are 33 in width, 24 in depth, 18 in height. Also which wood would be better for this enclosure, (3/4 MDF or 3/4 Birch?) Thanks! I hope to start building the box this week.

Quality 3/4" plywood (with 7 plys or more), is better than MDF is pretty much every single way except cost.

Here is your request, should work in an ext cab truck, power: to sub rated, amp subsonic filter to 28Hz, minimum port clearance 3 5/8", figure is just an assembly guide, port brace is 3/4" MDF, cross-braces are 1 1/4" wooden dowel rods.

Thanks for the design and cut sheet list. That is exactly what I wanted Joe X. How much clearance do I need to have in front of the port?
