ZDudas
I bought a kicker l7 15 dvc 4 ohm that I am going to run on a MB Quart 1500.1 at 2 ohm final load. I want the box tuned to 32hz and I want the port firing to the driver side and sub facing up. MAX dimensions are 33 in width, 24 in depth, 18 in height. Also which wood would be better for this enclosure, (3/4 MDF or 3/4 Birch?) Thanks! I hope to start building the box this week.
Triticum Agricolam
Quality 3/4" plywood (with 7 plys or more), is better than MDF is pretty much every single way except cost. ZDudas
I'll spend the extra cash if I need to. I have never used birch on any box build, only used MDF.

ZDudas
Thanks for the design and cut sheet list. That is exactly what I wanted Joe X. How much clearance do I need to have in front of the port?

Bob Tzimenatos
I recently built a very similar box for a L5 12. Right at 3 cubes, tuned to 39 hz or so. Following Joe's dims that box will slam in an ext cab.
ZDudas
Well I have the design now I'm off to lowes to get the MDF. Building will start today. Any ideas on how I should measure and cut out the square hole for the speaker? And are the 45s in the corners of the box necessary?
Joe X
The cutout is a square 13 3/4" x 13 3/4" how to cut it will depend on what tools you have available.
Bob Tzimenatos
Go to Kicker's website. In the manual for the Solobarics they have the dimensions and the radius for the corners.
