Polar Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Started out with a little system, mainly creating it from left over stuff Ive accumulated over the years. I didnt really care for how it sounded so I ditched the low powered pyle amp i was using, and bought a PPI BA 2600.1d. I also externally ported the box which made a world of difference. That all lasted about 1 month and I pulled the trigger on these. Ripped out all the old stuff, gutted the back of my truck, deadened the hell out of it and built the 5 cube wedge box ported, tuned to 33. I didnt like how they sounded or looked inverted( can see them over the rear window so I put in conventional and thats all she wrote! 2000 Ford Ranger Sport Ext Digital Designs DD915J 4.91 net birch box, inch port @ 33hz FSD FZ2600 FSD FZ100.4 Pioneer DEH80PRS PRV Audio 6MB200-4 6-1/2" Midbass Woofers Tymphany BC25SC08-04 1" Silk Dome Neodymium Tweeters with Waveguide
kryptonite Posted August 11, 2015 Report Posted August 11, 2015 I miss my ext. cab ranger. Had a 2000 as well, she got loud lol. I'd add some bracing on the inside of that box or atleast a second baffle for the subs to mount to. 5 cubes sounds huge for a pair of 12s but i guess if it works. Any future mods planned for it? bcbrassard Posted August 11, 2015 Report Posted August 11, 2015 Nice build man. Did you do any other work? New HU, Mids & Highs? Like to see more. My brother has a 09 Ranger reg cab that i did a small system in. App Radio, PBR300x4, 4 P683's and a slim RF prime 10" on a RF P300. Gets loud and sounds good.
Polar Posted August 11, 2015 Author Report Posted August 11, 2015 I did add bracing after I took those pictures. As far as mids and highs Im running alpine Type R components and a JVC multi media head unit. Id like to get a better h/u and some beefier mids and highs.
