Lsufan51 Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 Will a line driver allow me to get more volume without clipping?
reedal Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 I don't see how it would. It wouldn't change the other equipments capabilities and signal reproduction. At the absolute best, the increased voltage due to a line driver (assuming the order of equipment goes HU, line driver, amp) would cause a better signal to noise ratio from the amplifier instead of a lower preout voltage from a head unit. But keep in mind, more equipment in the chain of signal reproduction means more equipment to cause loss and distortion of that signal. RooTxBeeR Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 Most line out converters. Introduce distortion into the signal. Keep that in mind as well.
