strocket Posted August 18, 2015 Author Report Posted August 18, 2015 I could fire it out the side, I just thought that porting it towards the top would provide better sound quality since it was unobstructed. I do have the side of the cab pretty close... what would you say is a minimum distance the port should be from the cab?

So if your port is 2" x 6", for example, you would need 2" of clearance. If you can upload or send me your Sketchup file I have an idea that might work for you. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you calculate port length off of net volume after you subtract driver displacement right? And then once I have my port dimensions I calculate port displacement and subtract that from my net to make sure the driver has enough space. I've been chasing my tail for the last 30min trying to figure this out. This is the biggest brain fart I've ever had.

strocket Posted August 21, 2015 Author Report Posted August 21, 2015 Ok..... Here is what I came up with. My final net volume was .98 cu ft. I had to lower the frequency to 34Hz to make everything work out. Here is a picture of the model. I know you had said that 1.2 cubes would give me a more peaky response and .8 to .9 for a smoother response but because .98 is now my maximum net how can I get more of that punch back? Rap is going to be the primary genre played... should I tune lower?
