deadbroke Posted August 15, 2015 Report Posted August 15, 2015 here is a rough sketch of the box I put in the volumes of the chambers for a good reference. I am having a hard time figuring out port area and volume for the box. Can someone help give me some numbers and how you came up with them. I plan to invert the subs so they are in the ported chamber. the max size I have between baffles is 30.5 inches and max height is 16 inches but I would like at least 1 or 2 inches all the way around for mounting the port. How much power are you going to run? What is the goal of the system? deadbroke Posted August 15, 2015 Author Report Posted August 15, 2015 The ported area is 16h x 30.5w x 59l the chambers are 16h x 12w x 59l. I plan on putting around 8k to 10k on the box. And i was planning on doing a loud daily driver. In each chamber there are the wheel humps that take up .85 cubes each in case your running numbers.

Triticum Agricolam Posted August 18, 2015 Report Posted August 18, 2015 Looks good so far. For port area, more is generally better with bandpass boxes. I'd shoot for at least 400 sq in. That would require a port 17" long to tune to around 45 Hz. My suggestion would be to make the port removeable, cut it long, test and see how it sounds and then trim down the port from there to raise the tuning to where you want.
