ToNasty
So I can either use the dual harness and the 2 pin alt will control the 4 pin (what Jeff is doing) or use the vcm and turn it down when not in need? Miguels
Jeff. i think his running the other alt apart from the ecm Nasty.. yes you can run the alt with the VCM without using the ecm.. just find an ignition source to turn the alternator on.. since you will use the stock alt you wont get the dash light (this is what i would do because who wants to be at 12.8v on HO alt) Edited August 18, 2015 by Miguels Quote my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/

islandpride684
just make sure you have the dip switches in the right config on your vcm based on the type of batteries you are running...ie 12v, 14v/16v....and don't go over the their limits also....ie xs recommends not to exceed 14.9v on their 12v batts and make your adjustments with the system off and there is no load on the alt.... ToNasty
Not sure why I'd have to .ake adjustments with system off but ok. Seems easy enough. I think I'm going the vcm route Quote ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
