youre a lucky s.o.b.

youre only going to hurt the softparts (potentially), not the motor, so if you are going to have to recone anyways might as well have some fun trying to blow them....i came into the same situation because 1 of mine has a taller surround for some reason, so i decided to try and just blow them prior to reconing. but 2 m3b's strapped at 1ohm still couldnt get it done. so have some fun with them haha.

theres pics in my build log of the torture i put them through

Ohh ok makes sense guys. Yea i think i just might order another recone for the one that is still FI soft parts. Guy told me 160 not bad right? Its a corey dean spl.

personally, ive not had the best experience with him, but others have so dont let me sway your decision. but i also know that a stock recone from Fi is only $135, and idk why people think some other person who didnt design the whole sub, with multiple revisions, and months of work, can make a recone that is magically going to make the whole sub better. Fi makes some seriously quality product, i can tell you ive put 4k to multiple BTL versions, and all of them have taken it in a daily application. i havent been able to unwind a coil yet, even with 4 min strait of 20hz test tone in a box tuned @ 40hz, with double RMS.

unless you are switching to a TI basket, id stick with the Fi recone, theyll customize it if you need it for a certain application too. (stiff/extra spiders, flatwound coil) since thats pretty much the only way to change the dynamics of the sub when reconing.

Yea i dont think ima recone it with ccorey stuff. I think im just gonna use em for a while if they pop they pop. I am planning on switching to ti baskets tho with tantric sounds soft parts. What do you think?

lol look at my build log. Tantric makes solid product as well. as for real benefits, other than looking awesome and having the ability to remove the top half and switch them out without cutting them up, there arent going to be many benefits musically, or for efficiency. the 10" spider landing and added throw arent really benefits because the stock N2 already uses all of its potential throw that the motor offers. But if you plan on doing lots of testing, or multiple boxs and multiple size wookers, and dont want to cut them up every time, TI baskets are where its at.
