Help me decide

I am planning to upgrade the system in my Trailblazer. Equipment has been decided- don't offer your opinion here, it's a done deal. 2 SQ HDC315's on 2 SQ 2200.2's.

What type of enclosure? That's the question. I've listened to demos of different types- ported, 4th and6th, t-line. I want a ground pounder- that is musical. I am not into competing, but I can and do listen to my system full tilt for miles. I want to build the enclosure where the second row seats are, so I can still carry stuff in the hatch. I have about 11ft3 to work with. I would like the port to fire forward, between the front seats. Since I play music,what would be the best enclosure type to play 25-60 hz loud? I'd like to do a simple ported box, port firing forward and subs up. I am willing to go with a BP design if it can play the range I want.

I am no noob to this hobby- I had a SQ Dodge Intrepid in1998-2000 and did pretty good in IASCA. I am now 47, with kids in college. I love deep, hard hitting bass. Decaf, Psyph, that type of stuff.

So, SMD nuthuggers, help me decide.

You should pick subs that will be best for a ground pounder application but anyways given the space you have ported is what you can do, just setup variable tuning on your box and start with something like 35Hz.

+1 to what Joe X said. A ported box is probably going to provide you with the best output. Having an adjust able port of some kind will allow you to dial in just what frequencies you want to be the most efficient.

Totally not trying to hijack your thread, but I hear the plan for my box for HDS312's is about 5 cubes tuned at 35 on a Q2200.2. I would love to see what your build turns out like, and wish you luck, and loudness in your endeavor.
