DD-1 Question

Could be. What amps? What is your music source connection (USB, Bluetooth, aux, CD, etc.)? Do you use downloaded MP3's? A lot of things effect the output level of your music.

I believe on alpine units, you have to have the subwoofer level all the way up. Try that, reset gains, see if it changes any. But music is recorded at different levels. And depending on where you download your MP3's from, they could be compressed and altered, meaning that while the original music may have started at -5dB, it could be at -10db or lower, making it quieter than if your amplifiers were set at -10db

Also, with using two separate amps, you may need to match the gains. Find your maximum clean level, use a DMM to measure the ACvoltage output of both amplifiers, whichever one has the lower voltage, adjust the higher output voltage down to match the amplifier with lower voltage.

That HU only has 2v preouts.

When you find your max clean HU volume, start with the subwoofer level all the way up on the Alpine and only back it down as necessary.

What are you wired to?

If your electrical isn't strong enough to support the demand your power can get dirty real quick.
