afrakes Posted September 23, 2015 Report Posted September 23, 2015 Is there any way to rig my stock side post battery to accept both the stock wiring harness and add my set of sky high 1/0 battery terminals? This is an 04 blazer. Maybe something with a longer bolt to add the terminals? I tried googling it but couldn't find results that I was looking for. Thanks guys. afrakes Posted September 24, 2015 Author Report Posted September 24, 2015 Or even a way to add 3 1/0 ring terminals onto the current post until I can upgrade to an aftermarket battery would work too. MotorCityFats13 Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 get aluminum bar stock from homedepot and drill the hole needed to mount it to the side post... then drill more holes to attach the ring terminals
afrakes Posted September 24, 2015 Author Report Posted September 24, 2015 Do you have a picture of your current setup? I can add one in the morning, currently I have an 8 gauge wire running from my battery positive post from a previous install I haven't gotten around to removing. Nearing the time to do the big 4 and amp install (aq 1200) using all xs power 1/0. I just don't see how I could possibly add (2-3) more 1/0 lugs to this post or even the battery terminals I purchased unless I can find a longer bolt that will also work with my stock electrical harness/boot. There isn't many threads for it to grab onto to begin withEdit: have you done this with success? It would be worth a try if you have. Otherwise I'm going to try to find a larger bolt before I sink more money into an item that won't work Vehicle: 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD WT Head Unit: Pioneer DEH- Mids/Highs: Focal Integration ISC 165’s (front) Subs/Amps: TBD

crispy_chick3n Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 or you can check your local parts store. the sell longer gm side post battery bolts for like 6 bucks or so. ive used them before. only issue is if you dont use the whole length of the bolt you have to stick washers in so you have a good connection. that is if its even possible to use the extendo bolt. if you are too close to body or metal, dont even try to use on pos side or you might go welding unintentionally edit: one post up first link is a much better design than what i am talking about This page is crispy_chick3n approved. © crispy_chick3n inc
