CamEnglish Posted September 27, 2015 Report Posted September 27, 2015 so my girlfriends amp will go into protection every once in awhile when its being played full tilt. Its an audiopipe APCL-15001D on 2 soundqubed hds2 15s at 1 ohm. Its 1 ohm stable and will flip into protection even when it hasn't been played for a few hours. I am in Texas and its pretty hot outside but i still don't think its a thermal problem. The amp is also brand new. Any ideas? 2009 Chevy 2500HD 6" Lift 35" Nittos 22"x13" Fuel Kranks Pioneer App Radio 3 Alpine 500x5 Memphis PRX 1.1000 Memphis Mojo5 12" Red Oracle Halos
Bob Tzimenatos Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 How did you set the gain? Sounds like you need to back the gain off a little. Better yet, locate a shop or an individual with a DD-1.
kirill007 Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 1. It's a Audiopipe amp... 2. Voltage 3. Gain setting 4.Bad connections Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.

kirill007 Posted October 4, 2015 Report Posted October 4, 2015 i set it with a dd-1 ill check it again So? What happened? I have my sub amp mounted to the back seat that drops down if I leave the seat down on a sunny day even with the window tinted the amp goes into protection after a few mins of the A/C running comes right back on. not sure where your amp is )))) I live in La. so it get hot as hell here too Even with that heat it shouldn't get into protect after a few minutes, it's probably not set up correctly.(unless it's a crappy amp) Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
Skullz Posted October 4, 2015 Report Posted October 4, 2015 Save up and get a quality amp for her, and a quality amp doesn't go into protect randomly like low quality pieces will. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
