With stock electric big 3 and an xs power d4800 on a Sundown scv1500 would a capacitor hurt voltage at the amp or would it actually help? Looking at the stinger hybrid 5 farad capacitor. I have heard that it could actually bring my voltage down at the amp.

You'll want more like 150-300 farads. I wouldn't waste the effort on 5 farads

but would it lower voltage at the amp? I've heard that if the amp was say 14.0 volt if I add the cap it would put the amp down to 13.4 to lower spike to the rest of the cars electric.

A capacitor slows the drop in voltage, and slows the rise in voltage. It essentially tries to act as an equalizer.

They works best when coupled with a good alternator setup. If your charge system is lacking and you're dropping to 10v, you'll still drop to 10v with caps. It just might take 20 or 30 seconds to get to 10v

Snow.. You're very late. Tony and Tony already debunked your opinion. A 1 fared cap actually helped stabilize voltage and increased wattage on a t2500. Caps got a bad name because people tend to use it as the main source not taking in mind the alternator.

In other words. You're spreading misinformation on other people's user errors
